Planting Hellebores

Wave Petunias

Petunias have been around for years, but the Wave Petunias are a newer variety that have made Petunias extremely popular! Purple Wave came first, and it is an incredibly floriferous Petunia that offers a low-growing habit that's perfect for hanging baskets, containers, and covering entire flower beds. The Wave series now includes colors such as red, white, and pink, and comes in a new Tidal Wave series.

Hosta 'Patriot'

'Patriot' is a rather new cultivar that has taken the Hosta world by storm. The first plant released sold for $875 at the 1992 American Hosta Convention. Fantastic dark green leaves are edged with a much wider margin of white, and beautiful lavender flowers bloom in the summer. 'Patriot' is one of the most distinctive Hostas available today.

Calibrachoa (Million Bells)

Often referred to as trailing petunia, Calibrachoa isnít a petunia at all. The trailing stems are perfect for hanging baskets, window boxes, or the front of raised beds. The flowers come in a variety of colors including red, white, and salmon-colored blooms. Plants flower from spring to fall, and deadheading helps keep the floriferous nature of these plants. Give them a try Ė youíll be glad you did!

Cosmos bipinnatus (Tall Cosmos)

Looking for a taller perennial statement in your garden? Do you want a great cut flower? Try the Tall Cosmos, an erect annual with wispy foliage and flowers that are 2 to 3" across. Blooms come in shades of rose-pink to lilac, but cultivars in whites and bi-colors may also be found. Most are suited to the back of the garden bed, using other plants around them to lend a little support. Flowers continuously from spring to fall.
