This species bears green, hairy leaves beneath bronze or red fruit. Five to eight pairs of leaflets are tinged with pink. The species is seldom offered but 'Blue Haze' ('Pewter') has marvelous, finely cut blue-green foliage with red burs and 'Bronze' has bronze foliage and amber burs. These cultivars are sometimes listed under A. magellanica.
